There were jubilant scenes after a jury refused to convict the 8 defendants of all charges against them and the defendants were reunited with their loved ones after more than 18 months on remand.

After more than 38 hours deliberation the jury was unable to reach a unanimous verdict on all charges that included criminal damage and violent disorder arsing from the action at Elbit Systems site near Bristol in August 2024.

It is not yet clear whether the prosecutors will seek a retrial.
