It was Umer’s 23rd birthday, and his first birthday behind bars.  He has been on remand for nearly a year after taking direct action to stop genocide.  Activists gathered outside the prison to celebrate his birthday and in solidarity with Umer and all those currently being held for taking direct action to save lives.
