Lakenheath Peace Camp, Suffolk, 2026

The 3rd Lakenheath Peace Camp comes to an end today.  Activists attended from around the country and Europe to oppose the siting of nuclear weapons at Lakenheath.  Whilst the USAF will neither confirm nor deny the presence of nuclear weapons the silos housing them have been recently refurbished and there is a strong indication that nuclear bombs may already be present.  F15E and F35A fighters fly sorties across Europe and the Middle East from Lakenheath, the F35A has been flight tested with the B61-12 nuclear bomb, of which 12 are believed to be present on the base.  The presence of USAF fighter jets and personnel along with the potential presence of nuclear targets put’s the population of Suffolk and the UK at an unacceptable risk.  The F15 that was recently downed in Iran had flown out of Lakenheath.  Iran has indicated that lakenheath is now a potential target.
