Just Stop Oil are back!

Less than thirty minutes after Andy Burnham entered parliament to face his first PMQ’s activists from Just Stop Oil blocked the road outside the entrance to the Houses of Parliament that the new prime minister had just passed through.  JSO have resumed their campaign to campaign against the potential award of new licenses to extract oil and gas from the Rosebank and Jackdaw oil and gas fields.  JSO originally ended their campaign in April 2025 claiming it had achieved its goal of stopping new oil and gas extraction in the North Sea.  Fast forward 18 months or so, and after a record breaking heat wave this summer which saw thousands of heat related deaths and the catastrophic floods in Nepal which has claimed over 1000 lives and rising, the new PM is considering issuing new licenses for oil and gas extraction.   This is insanity!  New oil and gas extraction would put millions of lives at risk and blow any chance of reaching our net zero commitments.
